The purpose of the torsion test is to determine the behavior of the material when it is twisted or subjected to a torsion force, which is caused by the shear stress on the shaft caused by the applied moment.
Tension (T) is the force that the test wire pulls on any object connected to its end. Each tension follows the direction of the wire and the same sense of force when the tension is applied at the other end.
The elongation experienced by the sample during the tensile test is a measure of ductility, which is defined as the ability of the wire to deform/fit without breaking.
